Job Description
1. System Installation and Configuration
- Install, configure, and rebuild servers, hardware, peripherals, directories, and storage as required.
- Maintain and contribute to system standards and installation procedures.
2. System Monitoring and Maintenance
- Perform daily system monitoring for hardware integrity, key processes, server resources, and backups.
- Apply regular patches and upgrades to operating systems and administrative tools.
- Conduct regular system performance tuning and optimization for hardware and resources (CPU, memory, disk partitions).
3. User and Security Management
- Manage user accounts (creation, modification, deletion) and maintain corporate email security (spam protection, filters).
- Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
4. Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Administer corporate backup solutions, ensuring regular backups and recovery procedures are in place.
- Lead efforts in maintaining system uptime and quickly respond to after-hours emergencies.
5. Infrastructure Leadership and Improvements
- Manage daily operations of systems infrastructure planning and engineering.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements for optimal efficiency.
- Implement policies and procedures that support a robust IT infrastructure environment.
- Ensure servers are installed and designed to meet organizational needs.
- Provide guidance in infrastructure projects, security implementations, and datacenter management.
6. Documentation and Compliance
- Prepare and revise documentation on procedures, system configurations, and historical monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with infrastructure policies and procedures.
- Maintain historical records for performance analysis and future planning.
Qualifications & Experience
1. Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent).
2. Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role in large organizations.
- Extensive hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, Group Policy configuration, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, VMware, backup solutions, and security systems.
3. Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of administering Microsoft products and datacenters.
- Proficient in server monitoring, security audits, and performance analysis.
- Strong leadership and reporting skills.
